Release and Renewal

Today the Mystic Academy opened on the new sim in Second Life. We gathered at 2.30pm SLT on April 26th, 2010. I had the great honour of being asked to open the party with a meditation and blessing.

As I prepared for this event it struck me that in a this gathering symbolized the ending of an old and good idea that was the old Mystic Academy, and the re-birth of a newer and greater idea. And so with this in mind I prepared a meditation that I have captured in words and would like to share with you in this blog.

I invite you to take the time in a meditation to contemplate the following words. This way if you were unable to make the opening party you can still take some time to support the vision for the Mystic Academy in your own way. For I believe that at the level of thought and intent there is no such thing as space or time.

==MEDITATION FOR RELEASE AND REBIRTH==

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

(Pause)

Take another deep breath and release the tension from your day.

(Pause)

Take a third deep breath and allow love to touch every part of you.

(Pause)

In your mind I want you to think of a sacred place, a sacred space that you've been to, a place that you can feel truly at peace within.

Settle yourself into this space. Connect with the energy of love, peace and harmony of this place. This is your place. It is sacred space. And in the middle of this space is a little fire that burns, it's flames playing with the air.

Now consider the past of the Mystic Academy. Consider the talents and gifts you've seen shared that you are grateful for. Consider the relationships, opportunities, freedoms, and things that you are grateful for.

Now imagine that you are writing all these thoughts of gratitude onto a piece of paper. Now roll up the paper and release it into the fire.

(Pause)

And now reflect upon all the things, the behaviours, and the events that you believe you are ready to release around the Mystic Academy. You might be ready to release people, things, emotional attachments, fears, doubts, and so on. Imagine that you are writing down all these contemplations upon a piece of a paper.

And when you are done throw this piece of paper into the fire. Know that as you release these old ideas that they will symbolically grow into something new and beautiful.

(Pause)

Contemplate now upon what you believe the Divine's, God's, highest vision for the Mystic Academy is. What kind of people, qualities, experiences, and relationships make up this vision for the re-born Mystic Academy? What must I become to support this vision? What must I embrace to support this new vision for the Mystic Academy?

And when you are done throw this piece of paper into the fire. Know that this time the fire is purifying your prayers, and the universe will nurture these ideas and qualities.

(Pause)

And now simply release these thoughts. Feel a knowing that your vision is already so. The Infinite and immeasurable consciousness that is the Divine encompasses all. Know that there is an Infinite Force for good in the Universe and that you use it right here, right now. Feel every part of you filled with gratitude at your vision for the Mystic Academy already being so. It can be no other way.
