7th April 2.30pm SLT

1. Brief recap of last meeting

Notes/Actions

DS discussed the revisiting of MA's original vision and to create a safe area for discussion and education

plans are in place to move the sim so that new activities can start in the new parcel in the 3rd week of april

a financial amount of 20k is to be raised to assist in the move
by the 25th April

thereafter 65-70 usd / month will thereafter be donated to assist to land tier from selected contributors in the land management team

this equates to approx 3000L / 12 USD / per contributor with a minimum of 6 contributors.
we must note that : a contribution and in no way gives the contributor any special power or place
also any contribution is done with a sense of willingness and to a level which is manageable

anyone wishing to contribute in anyway to contact Dragon Shichiroji directly -

feedback has come back on land suggestions which will be investigated, 2 of these are within the parameters for search.

a need for a refined structure focused on continuing operations is essential and for this a new structure is required, this will be discussed later below.

2. update on things that have happened since the last meeting
possible prefab

A homely pre-fab castle has been chosen as the build - this will be small, and enough capacity to be managed financially.

we wish to have a simpler approach to scheduling with only one classsroom and main area
to begin with.

all classes at MA get priority on scheduling

United Spiritual Network

United spirit network was discussed, and a decision to join the group

liason will be needed with uSN to follow USN guidelines

MA will continue to work on its original mission to connect up other sims of spiritual nature

Land suggestions
-----------------

there have been 4 suggestions of land so far, they are all on the following guidelines

A sea front or sea view
With forest/green surroundings
Between 1500-2000 prims
Approx 50 - 60 USD / month on rental / or tier
the more isolated the sim can be the better

All suggestions will be viewed over the next few days with a selection by next week

Role proposal
==============

Calendar:
Instructs new teachers on calendar posting and event posting.
Ensures the calendar is updated correctly.
Updates the class schedule notecard by the calendar.

Teachers
deliver classes at Mystic academy at least once a week in the weekly slot
provide notecards for the librarian to support resources
post calendar events on SL events listings and notices to groups

Teacher Guides:
Interviews and selects teachers (final appointments are OK'd by Director).
Introduces new teachers to the Staff Coordinator.
Assists teachers with logistical concerns.
Provide new tutors with induction

Design Team:
Designs, builds, and maintains the grounds around the academy so that they are in keeping with the style of the castle.
Designs, furnishes, and maintains the interior of the castle in keeping with its style.

This area will have a team leader responsible for overall synergy for the sim

Librarian:
Maintains the library.
Adds books and information to the library from works submitted by academy teachers and outside sources that have no copyright limitations.

Land Management Team:
Team members manage the land and contribute to the tier.

Staff Coordinator:
Assists all team members and coordinates efforts. Acts as a communication channel to Dragon.

Director:
Dragon holds the vision of Mystic Academy and ensures that all efforts are directed toward that goal.
Directs meetings, coordinates efforts, and assists team members.

Other questions raised
------------------------------

do teachers need to reapply ?

- no we aim to minimize disruption and want activity back at MA as soon as possible, any current posts for classes can be routed directly to dragon who is currently

who will contrib to the new tier

- so far 5 people have come forward who are willing to contribute to the new tier, this will not give any additional management responsibilities , nor is it an obligation, the desire to give has to be a genuine heartfelt concern for the academy and its continuing efforts

to ensure rent is paid on time, we will ask the rental team to have a visible pay jar which the land management team will contribute to ahead of schedule, we will also have an open donation point for MA in the academy grounds for anyone else who wishes to contribute. MA will remain as a non profit sim, investing its surplus back into its resources, land growth will always be slow however and measured and reviewed in 3 monthly intervals.

- i want to post classes on MA - where do i post them?

right now send all events to dragon shichiroji directly, please post them onto sl events as you have done before. try and have classes on the ground floor if possible so they are visible and easy to find

communications - there is a suggestiont that everythign is put into writing and made available to all

AGREED: minutes will be sent to the group of mystic staff and the website will brought up again , Dragon advises everyone to get the viewer 2.0 client so that they can take advantage of the in world browser features and mystics web pages on http://www.mysticacademy.org which also will need to feature events

if there are 2 or more apps for a role we will need to interview those informally and will try to accomodate them in the new organisation
