1) Welcome to new staff: Dragon welcomed Soothsayer Pleides to the teaching staff. Soothsayer is teaching Astrology out of the Literary Salon Galadlas on the Mystic Academy Campus.
2) New visitors and group membership: Dragon emphasised the importance of encouraging new visitors and members to join the group. Group membership currently stands at 1850 – aiming for 2000.
3) Upcoming concerns: Dragon told the group that there is much to be done re the curriculum over the next two months. We need to focus more on the needs of the group as a whole by canvassing the students and being more responsive. Anada Serenity is considering running additional guided meditations and may run one as a pilot: All Staff/Anada Serenity
4) Networking: The aim is to forge a closer network with the other Spiritual Groups and be involved in joint projects. Dragon would like to see Mystic Academy as an info hub for spiritual groups and a place where they can grow their own memberships. ACTION: Elborath Gelfand
5) Greeting new visitors: Miralle reported that each new visitor on the sim ‘Perfect Paradise’ received a personal greeting making them feel their presence had been acknowledged on the sim. We need to both re-assess our greeting system and also investigate who is around to greet new
people personally. Dragon feels a ‘reception’ desk with online indicators would be helpful. Miralle suggested a central landing point with a tp board. Dragon suggests a simple sign post system. Elizabeth proposed a free hud book with information about Mystic Academy to be offered to new people on arrival. Lizzy Renard felt that the ambiance of Mystic Academy has changed and it is more cliquey then before. She feels the advent of the Campus may have contributed to this.
6) Events: Dragon would like main events and activities to take place on Spirit City. Some events may be specific to various Mystic Academy groups and some to mix the groups together – such as the proposed Spring Event.
7) Spring Event: Planned for the spring equinox on the 21st March. Needed: A NEWSLETTER to be concurrent – other groups to be contacted and offered advertising space. An editorial is necessary. The newsletter to be distributed to the other spiritual groups as widely as possible. A large advert is needed for the Spring Event itself. Suggested topics for the newsletter: Generating financial abundance ( about general principles of money and energy), 'Clearing up your clutter' (which can be about feng shui also) Ananda Serenity offered to contribute information about feng shui. Soothsayer offered to contribute some astrological work for the event. Dragon asked if a sale of goods at the Bazaar would be appropriate.
Elizabeth Spieler, Kuel Tardis and Hokon Cazelet agreed to be the ‘steering committee’ for the Spring Event and Newsletter. ACTION: All staff and members/ Anada Serenity, Soothsayer Pleides/ Elizabeth Spieler/Hokon Cazelet/Kuel Tardis.
