DATE AND TIME NEXT MEETING

1) New TP system

No problems were reported with the new TP system that links most of Spirit City and The Mystic Campus now. Elborath will link to those lands of people who are using their own land for classes if they wish it. ACTION: Elborath

2) Merchandising on Website

Elborath would like to have a page on the website devoted to merchandise made by Mystic Academy members. Initially this is envisaged as a page with links to where the merchandise is purchaseable – it could be considered that we might sell direct from our website in the future. The idea was met with enthusiasm. ACTION: Elborath after liaison with Dragon

3) Newsletter

Suggestions were asked for a Spring Newletter. Suggestions are as follows:

• A Mystic Crossword

• Poetry page

• Editorial page with input from the admin team

• Mystic Recipes

• Tips on RL spiritual awareness during daily activities – taking pleasure in simple RL activities (ACTION: Tamara Pau)

• A catalogue of our Library contents

• Pictures of MA and MA members – as well as from MA events.

The newsletter will need an editor – Elizabeth volunteered but will need an assistant. The newsletter needs to be in .pdf format. ACTION: All members – content to Eliazabeth Spieler please.

4) Calendar

Elborath has come across a calendar which is rezzed inworld which links to Google calendar. This would save prims and means that staff simply log into Google to put their classes on the board. We can have multiple boards and the calendar will then appear on all of them. It is also possible to embed the information into the web site. It was agreed for Elborath to trial the system. ACTION: Elborath

5) Spring Event

• Ideas were asked for a Spring Event. It was agreed to hold the event on Saturday the 21st of March – the Spring Equinox. The overall theme is to be rebirth with an emphasis on spring floweres. Ideas include:

• A kind of Pearl’s of Wisdom trail with the text in a flower – concerned with spring, re-birth themes, and nature

• Live concerts – Scott will think about holding a live concert and Star will ask Anu Pal who performs with piano and voice and Aira Jun

• A magic event – Star and Elborath will contact Azar

• A Spring Equinox Ritual (Elborath to liaise with FireStaar)

• Sexuality and Spirituality – a class hosted by Sara Long and Elizabeth Spieler

• A Spring Ball

6) Mystic Bazaar

Manon reported via IM that the Mystic Bazaar land has been deeded to Mystic Academy. It is proposed to put sky boxes above the land for rental and to have merchandising at ground level.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

a) Lag – several members commented on the lag situation at Mystic Academy. Things causing lag are lots of prims; avatars wearing lots of prims and bling (can we remember this please – particularly when attending events); lots of running scripts – again could residents remove unnecessary ones; particle emitters – do we need so many around Mystic Academy? High resolution textures and over decoration.

b) The idea of a bookshop was raised – Elizabeth demonstrated a publishing device – so that by means of a HUD people can have a representation of a real book with illustrations instead of notecards. The HUD comes with the book. Once published through the device the books sell in other places for around 75L each and could be a good source of income for MA. ACTION: Elizabeth to investigate.

c) Merchandising in RL – e.g. Mystic Academy T shirts – Jane Atkey mentioned the Cafépress scheme which does not require an initial outlay to get started. ACTION: Elborath to liaise with Jane.
