Minutes of Networking Meeting held on Saturday 19th July 2008-07-23

PRESENT: Dragon Shichiroji; Elborath Gelfand; StarRose Merlin; IndigoQueen Zamani; Lissi Desideri; Saturn Ariantho; Jeneve Felwitch.

1) Agreeing a shared vision and concept for networking: Dragon opened the meeting by welcoming everybody and setting out the objectives of meeting - to first of all meet each other and get to know each other, to set a ground for communications, to discuss shared objectives and assist each other to meet them and to set a slot for a regular meeting of the group leaders in order that we can put our minds together and generate a different kind of energy to bring more cohesion to the spiritual groups in SL. In essence this is really about information and resource sharing
as its getting very hard to keep up to date with all the groups and all the events taking place.

2) Mystic Academy (MA) is offering to advertise events and activities of the other spiritual sims to Mystic’s members – who number over 1600.

3) Elborath demonstrated the information hub developed by MA which contains information about other spiritual sims together with a landmark. This has been developed by Mystic Academy as a service to members and visitors to MA and an aid to networking. This hub is sent out to the spiritual group leaders each time it is updated so they can have it on their own sim. It is envisaged that the information from the hub is to be available through MA’s website http://www.mysticacademy.org with SLURL links from the website. In addition the spiritual groups will be offered a personal page to use however they would like to with links from the information hub page to their personal page. MA will provide this service free of charge. The personal pages would be interactive.

The site has a lot of traffic and so is beginning to be picked up by the search engines.

Elborath will undertake to get the information hub data on the website and either Dragon or Elborath will set up the pages for the spiritual group leaders. An interactive minute forum and general forum are already set up at:
http://www.mysticacademy.org/ma/forum

In addition links can be added to take people directly to a stream on a website to open in iTunes.

IndigoQueen Zamani told the meeting that she already has 3 Myspace pages and a social network for her radio show – all can be linked to from MA’s website.

The following to be publicised on the website as a start: Indigo Realm events and radio; the Truth videos from The New Dawn sim and anything Lissi would like to feature from her group the Wisdom & Enlightenment Centre. Elborath asked the leaders to send her events they want publicised weekly and she will put them up. Once the personal pages are set up then leaders can publicise their events there.

4) Chatroom: Dragon put forward the idea of a ‘chat room’ or radio stream that could overarch all the spiritual groups and cover any topic – with specific times for specific topics. IndigoQueen’s radio station already hosts live events with question and answer sessions.

5) Ideas for shared events:

a) StarRose told the meeting that MA is happy to share resources with the other sims – such as special guests like the Averys or Tony Dyson (Azar Shelman).

b) She also spoke of Dragon’s idea of field trips – taking members to events in other sims.

c)Dragon has the idea of setting up big events which could run across several sims consecutively each lasting perhaps for 30 - 45 mins per event voice led and each sim would have a speaker on a related topic. That way the traffic generated could be shared between all of us.

e)IndigoQueen mentioned her excellent radio station that broadcasts through Indigo Realm – this could be advertised through MA’s website.

f) Saturn proposed music as a medium to unite people as it is so universal. Dragon proposed that in a cross sim event music and a video could be used on The New Dawn (Saturn’s sim) as Truth Videos are shown there – Saturn felt that a cross sim event could use Music as a basic overall medium providing a connection sim to sim and have specialised topics at each sim at intervals throughout the day.

DATE AND TIME NEXT MEETING

The group decided that meetings at monthly intervals would be the most appropriate therefore the date and time of the next meeting is as follows:

Tuesday 19th August 2pm SLT

The ACTION points from this meeting relate to the MA website and so fall to Elborath and Dragon. Due to RL commitments Elborath has been unable to implement them right away but will have them well underway by the next meeting.
