I can't imagine that the answer would be anything other than yes. We are endeavouring to schedule classes now so that our members from all the time zones can enjoy them - offering them in languages other than English is part of the acknowledgement of the global nature of our community and the intention for Mystic Academy to be truly inclusive and embracing of the wonderful diversity of its members.

If the class is in Voice, and held in a language other than English, then these two facts should be specified in the promotion. Voice Classes, for those whose dialects and systems are not Voice Friendly, are invitations to disappointment, quite literally. Some are cold stone deaf, and the Voice to Text Software is a lot of wasted burden, to a system.
If the class is held in Text Chat, the language of the teacher becomes irrelevant, so long as there's an appreciation for the humor of machine translations. Some people simply prefer Voice, but I'm quite capable of singing in Text, myself, and have occasionally done so out of tune.
What I'd like to do, is to assemble a Cerredwen's Cauldron, which can only be modeled, in the current level of SL, and develop a class, that can work out gestures, to describe a sufficient set of principals, to produce Buddha, on a routine basis. That would make for a Ballet, and it would be completely Language Independant.
I seem to recall something of the thrill, of discovering that I could talk with my hands full, but Language is no more fundamental to Human Civilization than is Literacy, or the Internet, and the truly educated wouldn't depend of any such.

I don't really think it is a matter of "should," but a matter of "can." Surely we wouldn't tell someone wanting to offer a class in French that they cannot. We just don't, to my knowledge, have anyone stepping forward to do so. Supply and demand, my dear. :)
Take peanuts for everyone, water for yourself.
I totally agree with you, Elborath. But our schedule is still full of english classes (reason is obvious, not malicious, I know). My first interest in offering classes in spanish was my own "convenience", as I am a non-native english speaker hosting a group in english.
I don't doubt of everyone's goodwill about inclusion... in fact, MA is, I believe, a very open and diverse community. Throwing the poll is my way to find out if I'm the only one who is thinking about this, if there are other ideas lurking.
Maybe the next step is finding out the languajes we Mystics speak...

I voted no in this poll. Not because others can't have classes in their native language, everyone is entitled to do so. But I would regret not being able to go to an interesting class because it's in a language I don't speak. And I don't want to hold classes myself in my native language, so many people would not be able to attend. To me the exchange of ideas with so many people around the world is what makes sl so interesting in teaching there. I can teach in dutch in rl. In sl we use english, cause it's the language most people are able to understand and speak. Again, this is just how it works for me best. If others want to hold classes in their native language, which already happens outside MA too (lots in german for instance, like seen in search events), I am not against it. But I'm not planning classes in dutch myself.
Blessed be.

Smile and the world smiles back at you :)
...because the paradox is we can't always be inclusive. As Zena says, if I host a group in spanish I restrain attendance to spanish speaking people, and that's not open nor including. But offering just english classes makes non-native english speakers doubt about atending, because some times we're not so good with slangs and technicisms, making it hard for us to understand what's being discussed.
¿where might the middle term be? Le us keep on searching...
