FESTIVAL OF LOVE

Thank you everyone for a most wonderful weekend, I am still recovering lol.
Everyone who is wondering what happened to The Best Dressed Hippy Contest, I apologise. It had to be cancelled due to technical problems. I would like to hold it later this week. So do not delete your hippy outfits yet. I have to make arrangements and will let you know.
FireStarr Frye, and Greywolf Frye have created a wonderful dessert oasis, with exotic tents for vendors to display their wares and the dance pads look like pools of cool inviting water with a palm grove growing out of it. The area has a calm serene feel that is so pleasant for shopping and with new and fabulous vendors its the perfect place to while away a few moments looking for that special something like the earrings I got from Earth Stones, and the psychedelic outfit and posters I got from The Vibe.
Red Rock has a wonderful Slide show and some cute freebies and that's not all.
Saturday we enjoyed the space provide for our enjoyment on Matara provided by Manon and Mystic Academy. It was a lovely setting and I put out a collection of photos and album art from the 60's era up the hill. StarRose put out a tub for those who wished to recreate the water fun at Woodstock. We seemed to be in our own mini Woodstock world. Having so much fun and creating the love. I must say the settings added to the wonderful feeling, with so much beauty freely shared.
Saturday night we wrapped up the day's festivities with a dance, we spent a great time listening to 60's and 70's music that Greywolf streamed for us dancers as we closed the night and looked forward to the next day, I have to say it was one of the best days I have had on SL.
And Sunday well what can I say… more of the same!!!
I want to say a special thank you to the entertainers Lailu, Nance, Moxy and Lauren, you guys put on a great show with material pulled from your experiences on SL shared with such gusto and feeling, it was magic.
I would also like to thank everyone who helped organize the event and worked on it with us the core committee: myself Jophiella Willis, StarRose Merlin, Denon Kanto who tried valiantly to herd the cats, Lailu Loon who organized the live entertainers, the artists who contributed original pieces to decorate the site: Hermes Kondor and Leou Aeon, Clis Mizser who rounded up resources for us, FireStaar Frye and Greywolf Frye for DJing and their wonderful new shopping area, I am sure that they had help from friends to get it ready on time who we appreciate too.
Manon Clary for DJing and to Mara Mureaux for being her right hand woman as the festivities came to an end on Sunday night, and others who contributed in small ways like Lizzy Renard who provided the daisy we gave out. I know I am leaving people out because we had so much help in so many ways that saved us a huge amount of time and energy. AND I would like to thank all the people who came and enjoyed the love in with us, who gave kind words of encouragement and support. I count it as a big success. We are great lovers, people!!! YAY!!!

Although stated/advertised by my main man (Dragon) as Thanksgiving, I made sure to correct him quickly that it was Independence Day. Then once I convinced him that aliens were not trying to take over the world and that we did not have Will Smith arriving to save the day, we set about what we do best!
Throwing an awesome party!! Dragon started off with some classic trance and house and then playing some of his very own (produced by himself) tunes!
I stepped up as next dj and showed the great Mystic crowd (as ever) what London MC'ing and Drum and Bass was all about!! Then the biggie came! For almost 2 years Dragon and I have waited for the day we combine our talents. On July 4th 2008...we nailed it!! Dragon played some awesome tunes! whilst I did the vocals, spitting lyrics furiously to show the sl world the real bamf (MC Seagull) Also celebrating the birthday of Dansz Darkstone the crowd was behind us non stop and was a great experiance.
An awesome fireworks display from Greywolf to top the night completly!! Thanks to all that attended and had a blast!
My message to you all! Dont miss what Dragon me and Mystic Academy will be bringing to you in the future!!!

The energy was high, as well as attendance to this much anticipated event.
For the first time ever in Second Life, Mick and Sylvie Avery presented Gregory Hayes to the SL public.
And what a show it was!!
Mick, in full trance and unaware of what was being said through him, regaled the captive audience with tales of how it is, and how it came to be, that he as Gregory went to the other side.
With Sylvie Avery fielding questions from the audience during this event, and also asking him at times to expand on a subject, the information was utterly fascinating and inspiring.
Truly a rare and special treat for everyone at Mystic Academy and Second Life.
The information will keep flowing too, as once "Gregory Hayes" starts on a series of wisdom and teaching, it continues along a natural course.
That being said we are very happy and excited to report there will be more sessions with these remarkable and wonderful people.

SUMMER FAIR EVENT A GREAT SUCCESS

Summer Fair June 3, 2008
The energy was high and the spirit too as Cataplexia Numbers and Yetzirah Aeon gave us wisdom and information on the Chakra's at Mystic Academy Summer Fair.
Cataplexia's in depth and intuitive lecture, graphic demonstration and energy sharing was indeed a treat for all those present and beyond.....
She not only shared her knowledge but also her personal anecdotes of her life as a nurse in her journey of awareness of the Chakra's and healing.
Cataplexia led everybody through each Chakra point and its meaning, color and even history as a part of our whole being.

Yetzirah Aeon also did a exemplary job of sharing his haunting, stirring and healing melody, explained in detail the fascinating details of the Sanskrit language and music he shared so beautifully.
Truly a experience to be remembered and felt long after the "time" done.

Last night Mystic Academy hosted a fund raising event. To open the event I interviewed Azar Sak using SL Voice.
In real life Azar is a 'Special Effects Supervisor' in the film industry. He has had an illustrious career spanning 25 years and is responsible for designing and building such models as R2D2 for 'Star Wars',scale model cars for the street scene in 'Metropolis' 36 model spacemen complete with backpacks, laser guns and clothes for the space scene in 'Moonraker and much much more - including, I found out during the interview, building the bodies for FI racing cars - Williams and Ferrari to name just two. Azar also proved to be a witty, engaging and natural speaker - making my job as interviewer really easy :)
As the interview progressed we moved onto Azar's healing work - he described himself as a psychic. He is a Reiki master, travels on the Astral Plain and has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to pass on. The interview ended with questions from the floor both in voice and text and I believe Azar would have been happy to go on answering them all night until SL glitches ended his session with some fairly dramatic crashes.
Follow that as they say! So I conducted a deep relaxation session with a visualisation to end the evening.
Nina Lancaster from 'The Healing Pool' spent the evening with us and videod (with sound) the interview. We are so looking forward to seeing that - thank you Nina.
All tips for the evening were to Mystic Academy - I leave Dragon to tell us how much we raised.

Mystic Academy hosted its second live interviews on Monday 21st April 2008 using voice. Elborath interviewed Jane Atkey, StarRose Merlin and FireStaar Frye. All identified the success of the Academy to the spirit of the members.
As to what they would like to see for the Academy for the future all would like MA to continue to develop the library to become an Alexandrian Library and for the Academy to become a spiritual centre of excellence for all of SL.
Last night, 17th April 2008 Mystic Academy held its first full length discussion using voice. The evening began with a series of interviews by Elborath starting with the Academy Director Dragon Shichiroji. Dragon told how his vision of a spiritual school in SL had come about, why he thinks MA is such a hugely successful enterprise, where he thinks the Academy is currently and where he would like it to go in the future. At the start Dragon was very 'hands-on' teaching classes, giving Tarot readings doing most of the admin himself. But as the Academy has grown it has become impossible for one person to shoulder all the work. Luckily the increasing membership has attracted many people who have great skills in all the areas and so he is able now to delegate much of the day to day running. But he misses not being able to teach as much as he would like. But the Academy has grown and so has Dragon's day job - and we need balance in everything.
Elborath went on to talk with other people in the lounge and then the evening progressed with a fascinating religious and philosophical discussion until the wee (well by Brit standards) small hours. The first broadcast going out at 4pm SLT was hosted by StarRose Merlin who talked about her work as a healer and psychic both in RL and in SL. StarRose initiated a discussion with those listening about the nature of healing and what it means to those who work as healers.
The evening continued with some beautiful music streamed by our Academy Director Dragon. Despite a few teething problems (the usual SL glitches) this was fantastic work Star - to make that very first broadcast :)
Initially Mystic Stream will broadcast every Monday (SL willing) from 4pm to 6pm SLT - come over, tune in for some talks, interviews, news and cool music. As we develop our expertise and increase our content our broadcasts are planned to stream several times a week.

There's a nice smell of incense here. We're surrounded by paintings and sculptures. And here you have a studio in the middle of your living space. The Plateau is often described as being full of musicians and artistic people, yet it's not every day that one actually meets a working artist. Is that what you do?
Nicolas Lehoux: Yes. I am an artist. I describe myself as a visionary artist. I paint and I draw comics. Right now I'm working on a new series of ink drawings to sell.
(We enter the studio and look at the current works in progress - a set of semi-abstract drawings.)
Nice. Flowing, but controlled, slightly retro, and yet I see some mystical elements in there. How do you sign your art?
Lehoux: Leou. (He spells it out.) I am Leou Aeon on Second Life (a virtual reality space online at secondlife.com), where I also exhibit, give classes and host discussion groups in Mystic Academy. And I have a discussion group about 2012 - the end of the Mayan calendar.
Well, you have a peaceful space to work. It's not a huge apartment, yet there is no clutter - plenty of space to move around and hang your art.
Lehoux: Some of these pieces are by my girlfriend's. (He points out a few.) And she really likes to decorate. It's very feng shui here. It's very studied, like everything is in its place. We pay attention to those tiny details.
Is the neighbourhood also peaceful?
Lehoux: It is very quiet. That's part of why we moved here. We used to live on St. Laurent in Petite Italie, but there were a lot of trucks. It was cool, but at some point we need some quiet.
Do you know who lived here before you?
Lehoux: There were two artists - an actor and an actress. So there was a really good energy here when we came. And our neighbour upstairs is a musician - a percussionist. Sometimes he plays piano and I can hear it as I'm drawing. So there's a kind of complicity. It's incredible to know there's another artist there and he's also creating.
It's a small place, but it's very large in a way. Doors have been removed. There's a feeling of being able to walk around. It's quite open. Did you ever think of changing the colour of the walls?
Lehoux: (Laughs.) That's what we did when we came here. Everything was dark - (pointing at the floor) see this colour?
Yes. It's the wide-plank floors, painted a light of grey.
Lehoux: This was yellow. It was very dark here in the hallway. It was also grey. So we decided - me and my girlfriend - to make everything white. It's a shame the floor was painted. You see in the living room how beautiful the wood floor is?
That's right, the living room is the only place where the floor is exposed and it's beautiful, a very wide-plank pine.
Lehoux: It was like this all over, I guess. But I don't know why they painted that. We lost that. So when we came, it was very dark. You can see the sun does not come in well. So making everything white, I also feel that it's like a gallery. When you walk in a gallery, it's white all over, it's very pure.
(We go through the kitchen and step into the bedroom.)
Your bedroom is mostly bed.
Lehoux: It's tiny. But the window overlooking the yard gives it a sense of space.
(We walk out the back door and step into the yard.)
That's a plus, being able to take your breakfast out here in the sun.
Lehoux: It's a beautiful garden, and the first time we have a garden. We really needed it. My girlfriend and I both love plants. And we will have raspberries for the whole summer.
I can hear the sounds of people and laughter. Is it a family neighbourhood?
Lehoux: We've been here for six months, so we're not exactly sure what it is, but I feel people are very respectful here. We've lived in other places where it is poorer, but here we found a place where I think we can be friends with the neighbours. And it's peaceful, quiet. It's incredible. And people are beautiful here in the Plateau. You walk in the street, and it's very inspiring. People smile. And when people smile, it makes a difference.
You also have parks around here. You have Laurier Park, Laurier Street.You're near St. Denis.
Lehoux: Very close to Mont-Royal, which is a very nice street.
It's a fun apartment. I must say, you two really express your individuality in your surroundings.
Lehoux: It's true. Show me your house, I'll understand who you are. That's what you do with your articles. You understand people by the way they arrange everything, the energy in the place, the colours. It speaks. You cannot lie. When you enter somebody's house, you see it right away.

Relay For Life Event a Fantastic Success

The Relay For Life Event masterminded by Bamf2 Kungfu at Mystic Academy over the Easter Weekend was a fantastic success! The total amount collected for the charity over the two days was a magnificent L$24,537! WOW! Well done to all concerned particularly Bamf2 for his organisation.

New Island

Manon Clary, Mystic Landlady, has bought a new island! It is to be called Matara – meaning ‘Where Heaven Meets Earth’ - name chosen by Dragon. This is also the name of a town in the south tip of Sri Lanka – through which runs the river Nilwala. Manon would like this idea to be incorporated in the island. The island is closed for the moment pending landscaping. Matara will show up on the SL map as one sim with Spirit City. It is hoped that the island may attract residents from the other spiritual groups, although Mystic members will have preference, and become ‘multi-cultural’. Mystic Fair at Mystic Academy a Huge Success

Mystic Academy's Mystic Fair got off to a bang yesterday as the day was opened by the ChangHigh Trinity Sisters performing their amazing Firedance. Their display was truly out of this world - and out of this virtual world too. Calling on love and light the dancers gave a spectacular performance with a fireworks display that was New Year's Eve, 4th of July and 5th November (for you Brits out there) all rolled into one! The performance was so well attended that it became impossible to tp in as the sim was full.
The day continued with consultations given by Mystic's Consultants, a phenomenal live music performance from Beeflin Grut, good shopping at the Mystic Bazaar (as always) and a party into the night. Way to go Mystic Academy. As Ari said - let's do it all again in the summer.
Many many thanks to Arianna for all her hard work in organising the Fair, to Rian for her seamless management on the day and to Wulf for the part he played in making sure the day went smoothly.
Unfortunately I could only stay for the first two hours. So anyone out there with photos or stories about the rest of the day - please put them up here if you are an editor or send them to Elborath Gelfand in world.

After a spell away with illness our Director Dragon is back! Here's to him and to his health! After chairing the usual Monday Staff Meeting Dragon called an impromptu party! The music was great, the company even better! Yman Juran came and danced one of her famous firedances - and did she light up the scene. We even got visited by a couple of Daleks obviously looking for a Tardis.
Dragon announced another party for Thursday 14th - Valentine's Day as if anyone needs reminding! So dust off your dancing shoes and find your romantic clothes and make a date for the hottest party in town.

Mystic Bazaar and the Grey Wolf Club
The shopping area at Mystic Academy on Spirit City is now open! Known as Mystic Bazaar it is situated on the island.
All thanks to GreyWolf and FireStar for all the hard work and the great job they have done in setting the Bazaar up.
The Grey Wolf club has been set up on the roof of the castle which houses the Bazaar. The Club will be giving us great gigs 6 days a week! So now you can always catch a party! Here are some piccys of the opening night - this should whet your appetites and get you dashing hot foot up onto the roof!

Zenny Carpathea has done a wonderful job of cajoling ppl into supplying articles and pictures for the winter edition of MA's Newsletter MYSTIC STAR. Then she did an even more wonderful job of editing the material to produce a bumper newsletter full of stories, interviews, poems, information and pictures. Hip hip hooray for Zenny - she has produced such a great newsletter :)

Baji and Jane's CD Launch Party

Baji Bourjade and Jane Atkey hosted a great party last Monday to celebrate the launch of their CD breathing meditations. Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to a RL social clash (bad management or what) but I have it on very good authority that a fantastic time was had by all. The party was held in Mystic's new club house - yes it is in a tree - but WHAT a tree!
It is hoped to bring you a fuller account of the party later from someone who was fortunate enough to be there, but meanwhile check out the brilliant photos taken by Jane Atkey! You will find them in Gallery in the folder called Baji and Jane's CD Launch Party
Bonfire Night at Mystic - report by Bamf2 Kungfu

On Monday the 5th of November, Mystic, along with most of England, celebrated Guy Fawkes night in style!! A great crowd as normal attended as Alienshaman tore up the decks as we danced round a great bonfire!! Those of us that deserved to, were stuck on the fire to burn in memory of the failed plot to blow up the houses of parliament in 1605 by Guy Fawkes and crew.
Dragon then took to the decks half way through the evening and started with an ultimate song!! Cos thats right guys, we (me) were also celebrating the realease of Leona Lewis' new album, HAHA!,.
With a half hour to go, Greywolf Frye started up an awesome fireworks display. The plan was to give it large with 5mins left, but grey being grey decided that 5mins in was the time to crash the sim, HAHAH, Ty Grey!! Basically guys if u were not there then u missed another great gathering as we said goodbye to Mystic beach in style!!

Christmas Party Outside the Castle

Mystic Academy celebrated our second Christmas - but this was our first Christmas in our new home. Director Dragon spun the decks and gave us cool music. The sky went rainbow and we jived in style. Zena has already put some great photos in the gallery and there are a few more added now.
Here's to 2008 Mystical Members :) With your help we will make it even more of a success than 2007. We have survived several moves and an earthquake - and have emerged reborn and stronger than ever! Mystic Academy was the first group of its type in Second Life and remains the biggest spiritual group out there. There are many exciting things in the pipeline - new ideas, new classes, new technology. Be part of it!

Halloween at Mystic! A shockingly good time was had by all!
We kicked off with a rave party streamed by Bamf2 - thank you Bamf - great music and a wild time. Dragon made a lightening visit (no pun intended - or perhaps - oh whatever) :)) Sorry you couldn't be with us for longer D - guess spooky old RL dragged you away! Hope you went kicking and screaming :))
Firestar conducted a moving Samhain ritual - thank you Fire then StarRose and Julie held a seance up in the Temple. Great time - here's to next year.

Mystic Academy Spiritual Community Info Hub

Mystic Academy is developing a Spiritual Community Info Hub. This is a work in progress and is constantly being updated. It is fairly young yet and has just 46 entries. But more are added everyday.
Eventually when someone visits the Academy they will be able to access information and landmarks to all the spiritual and allied groups out there. This is a step towards a communication network for the spiritual groups of SL.
The board is subdivided into categories - they are as follows:
• Spiritual Education - Spiritual, Psychic, Astrology, Zodiac, etc.
• Sacred Places – temples, gardens, archaeological, meditation places etc.
• Healing – all forms of healing
• Psychic Readings - Tarot, Runes, Clairvoyance, etc.
• Eastern Traditions – Hindu, Buddhism, Zen, Shinto,
• Global Faiths – Christianity, Judaism, Islam
• Ancient Traditions – Pagan, Wiccan, Druidism, Celtic, Native American
• Fantasy – Elves, Dragons
• New Age – Indigo Children, Universalism, Bountiful Universe, Gaia
• Merchandise – Shops that carry merchandise for any or all of the categories above

At last night's Staff Meeting (for the minutes of this meeting see Forums - Minutes of Staff Meetings) StarRose Merlin reported she had been in communication with a journalist, Kiara Writer (apt name). :) Kiara is putting together the top ten grous in SL for a new SL magazine and Mystic is in that top ten! Yay!!
We would have known about this earlier if not for the capricious nature of SL! Rian Hirvi told us that she had sent a notecard about this very subject a week previously but no-one was aware of having received one. SL is down for a grid update at the present time so I am unable to access the notecard. As soon as possible I will take any more information from it and post it here. But for now - WATCH THIS SPACE!

Our new home is open!!! Last night Mystic Academy opened its doors on its new sim - and Sivat took the very first class telling a thought provoking story about knowing oneself.
The club also opened its doors - our club is in a treehouse! Whoot! And this being Mystic we held an impromptu party! Take a look in the Gallery 'Open House' to see hot off the press photos!
For those of you who weren't around you should find notices with landmarks when you log on. Most of the island is still under development but the Academy building is up solid and true and the club. When you arrive at the telehub you will find two tp points to the Castle and the Club. Go over - explore - enjoy. And if you want to live in this beautiful place contact Manon Clary or Dragon.
